Dear Friends,
This year has proven to be one of many changes. Within our community
we are now allowed to marry anyone we chose, George Bush is on his
way out and Rainbow Festival is being run by CGNIE, Inc. For those
not familiar with the Court of the Great Northwest Imperial Empire
Inc, we are a non-profit organization that raises money for local
charities within Sacramento and surrounding areas. Our goal is to
raise funds a dollar at a time in order to help those who may need
it. Terry Sidie, who normally puts on Rainbow Festival, has allowed
our organization to manage it, and I thank him for that.
This year Rainbow Festival is about having fun and thus we are
providing a day packed with entertainment. Headlining the main stage
will be Inaya Day and Brenda K. Starr. Inaya Day is an incredibly
versatile songwriter, with writers' credit sections on Bootsie
Collins album "Fresh Outta "P" University" and on Randy Crawford's
LP "Every Kind of Mood". She has recorded vocals for Michael
Jackson, Sean "P-Diddy" Combs, Mc Lyte, Oueen Latifah, Moni Love and
Missy Elliot - to name a few. Inaya has spent time on the Billboard
charts, lending her voice to a number of singles. Songs such as
Mousse T's "Horny", Mike Cruz's "Lift It Up" and Mr. Timothy's " I
Am That 1" have all hit number one. Remakes of "Nasty Girl" and
"Glamorous Life" make her sought out by new artist and DJs alike.
Brenda K.
Starr has been pushing the envelope of music since the early 80's.
In 1984 see landed a dancing and singing role in the break-dancing
film "Beat Street". Not long after, at 18, she released her debut
album "I Want Your Love", which included the Freestyle Classic "Pickin'
Up Pieces". Since then she has been on Billboard's Top 20 with hits
such as "I Still Believe" (remade by Mariah Carey). As her career
continued, Brenda crossed over to the Latin Charts with hits such as
"Tu Eres". Albums such as "Te Sigo Esparando", "No Lo Voy Olidar"
and "Petalos De Fuego" keep her fans wanting more.
Rainbow Festival will offer you fun and entertainment 20th and K
style. Please join us as we celebrate our Pride and at the same
time, raise money for local charities... A DOLLAR AT A TIME
Thank you,
Johnathan Cameron
